In this two-afternoon weekend intensive, come and explore the healing meditative body-movement of qi gong. The qi gong practice is a cultivation of self, the breath and the body through the transmission of these ancient forms developed by studying nature. We will start with practice, opening ourselves up to the early afternoon, and aligning the qi (life energy) within ourselves and our surrounding environment. After practice, we will share tea and engage in discussion about qi gong and the experience of the practice.
All bodies and levels welcome, no prior experience necessary. Qi Gong is incredibly versatile to modification and as a Daoist practice, is truly centered in your body and how the movement best aligns for you. Wear comfortable clothing, but nothing further is needed other than perhaps a water bottle for before/after practice and a towel for perspiration. This practice is best experienced barefoot to bare floor.
Aimee Francaes practices in the JinJing lineage of qi gong. Her direct teacher is Dr. Kelly Jennings whose teachers Heiner Fruehauf and lineage holder, Shifu Wang Qingyu have dedicated their lives to the JinJing practice and Daoist medicine. Aimee found the JinJing Qigong practice in early 2022 and immediately recognized it as what she had been searching for, even though she had not been actively seeking it out. She welcomes sharing this potent and accessible medicine to all.
